Dewi Sri sedang menabur biji. Bagi masyarakat tradisional Jawa, Dewi Sri
dijadikan symbol kesuburan tanah pertanian maupun kesuburan suami isteri.
Dengan kepercayaan tersebut, pada rumah-rumah masyarakat tradisional disediakan
ruang khusus untuk bersemayamnya Dewi Kesuburan yang dinamakan Pedaringan atau
Pasren. Pedaringan adalah tempat tidur yang ditata indah terletak di senthong
tengah, ruangan paling belakang di bangunan induk. Di pedaringan inilah
dilakukan ritual doa untuk memohon agar keluarga yang bersangkutan senantiasa
dilimpahi berkah. Setiap benih yang disebarkan tumbuh subur dan mensejahterakan
keluarga lahir batin.
Sri 'The Seeds'
Dewi Sri was sowing seeds. For Javanese traditional society, Dewi Sri was a symbol for agriculture land’s fertility as well as fertility for husband and wife’s reproduction. Accordimg to that belief, in traditional houses are given special space for Dewi Sri’s room called Pedaringan or Pasren. Pedaringan is a bed arranged beautifully located in middle senthong, the backmost room in the main building. In the pedaringan was held pray ritual to beseech that the family will always be blessed. Every seeds sown would grow and give prosperity to the family.
